Australia ratified the Marrakech treaty

Tuesday, 15 December 2015

Overnight in Geneva, Australia ratified the Marrakech treaty - a world treaty that facilitates access to published works by visually impaired persons and persons with print disabilities.

A joint media release from the Government states Australians with vision impairment will have greater access to books and other published materials in accessible formats such as large print, braille or audio following Australia's ratification.
Accessible format materials are essential to ensuring all Australians can engage fully in school, work and our communities.
