As part of Information Awareness Month, the Australian Library and Information Association CEO, Sue McKerracher, today spoke at the National Library of Australia in Canberra about the FAIR campaign.

'FAIR is about sharing information we care about and having the community support libraries,' said Ms McKerracher.

'Keeping people engaged and getting the critical mass involved in things that matter through clear positioning and a united voice is our focus.'

'We're using social media to raise awareness about libraries, funding and copyright issues," she added.

The result on fund raising for the school libraries of Vanuatu which were damaged by Cyclone Pam was also discussed.
