What's the story?
The State Library has recipe scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, photographs, bulletins, articles from the personal collection of Ruby Borrowdale, the first Queensland cook to appear on TV in 1960. She was also a regular contributor to newspapers and radio.

Lamingtons 
Ingredients
0.5 cupful butter
3 eggs
3 cupfuls flour
1.5 cupfuls sugar
1 teaspoonful soda
2 teaspoonsuls cream tartar
1 cup milk
Method
Best the butter to a cream and add the eggs, which should be well beaten separately; mix the soda and sugar in the milk and dissolve thoroughly, then add. Dredge in two cupfuls of flour and mix the cream tartar in the other cup, which should always be added last. Bake for one hour.
Rolled Oat Biscuits 
Ingredients
1.5 cups flour
3 cups rolled oats
1.5 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons treacle
0.5lb butter
1.5 teaspoons of soda dissolved in 2 tablespoonse of hot water
0.5 vanilla essence
