We're cooking for copyright AGAIN

Date for Diaries - Monday 31 July 2017

Have a celebratory morning or afternoon tea to celebrate the passing of the  The Copyright Amendment (Disability Access and Other Measures) Bill

We want you to celebrate these important copyright reforms because FAIR supporters and Members of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) efforts to lobby our politicians has led to real change.

On 31 July we will be celebrating the two-year anniversary of the Cooking for Copyright  campaign which raised awareness of of our muddled copyright law and helped lead to this Bill being passed.

Back then, FAIR published 35 handwritten recipes on the website (see below) – effectively contravening the current copyright law – and we asked ALIA Members, FAIR supporters and Australians to cook one of these recipes – or choose an old favourite – and to post a photo to facebook or tweet using #cookingforcopyright

FAIR and ALIA had incredible support from National and State Libraries Australasia, archive, museum and historical society colleagues, who provided dozens of recipes, ranging from perfect morning tea fodder through to weird medicinal products.

So let's do it all again!

As we all enjoy the goodies, let's take a moment to reflect on how we contributed to real change. Post your photos to facebook or tweet and remember to include #cookingforcopyright.
